A woman is seeking support from the Reddit community after discovering her boyfriend of two months had been hiding a significant secret from her: he has two young children. The revelation left her questioning how she should proceed.
The 25-year-old woman says her 31-year-old boyfriend revealed this information on a recent night out. “I was honestly shocked that this was the first time he was telling me,” shewrites in a post. “Especially since we’ve been dating over Christmas and didn’t even mention it…”
As the woman pressed for more information, her boyfriend became defensive before disclosing that his children have different mothers who don’t get along, the poster explains. He also shared that the kids are 4 months apart, with his youngest being just 9 months old.
The boyfriend’s justification for keeping his children a secret was allegedly due to a fear of rejection, the woman writes. “The reason he didn’t want to tell me he had kids was because I wouldn’t like him anymore,” she explains. He also explained that he isn’t “really in their lives at the moment," she adds.
The information left the woman “flabbergasted” and questioning the foundation of their budding relationship. “At this point I’m ready to break up with him, because who even is this man?” she says. “If he lied about that, what else is he lying about?”

In light of the advice received from the Reddit community, the 25-year-old woman has decided to end the relationship. In an update to her original post, she writes, “I’m honestly still in shock about it all, but I have broken up with him and blocked him on everything.”
