Taylor Lautnerand his wife,Taylor Dome, have a lot in common.
The actor met the nurse while he was on a hiatus from acting through his sisterMakena Moore.
“I wanted to take a step back and enjoy life and spend some time with my family and friends,” he told PEOPLE in January 2022. “And I met my fiancée out of it, soit all worked out.”
The couple went public with their relationship in 2018 and theTwilightactor proposed three years later. Lautner shared the newson Instagramwith photos of the special moment captioned, “And just like that, all of my wishes came true,” he wrote.
The following year,Lautner and Dome wedon Nov. 11, 2022, at a winery in California.

She’s a registered nurse and mental health advocate

Dome isn’t a Hollywood star, but a healthcare worker. Aftercompleting her studiesin 2019, Dome became a registered nurse, and thanked Lautner in a post on Instagram for his support throughout her schooling.
“Thank you for encouraging me when I felt like quitting. Thank you for all the meals you’d make me when I was too busy studying. Thank you for quizzing me and trying to pronounce medical terms and abbreviations,” she wrote alongside aphotoof the two embracing.
In May 2021, Dome postedseveral snaps of herself at workin celebration ofNurses Week. She praised her fellow healthcare professionals in the caption, writing, “Thank you for all you have given, your drive to keep going, and your heart of gold.”

Dome is a close friend of Lautner’s sister, Makena, and the actor gives his sister fullcredit for introducing the pair.
“My sister Makena actually introduced us,” he told PEOPLE. “She called me and said, ‘Dude, I found your future wife. You need to meet this girl.’ And the rest is history.”

The actor said Moore used Lautner’s love of games to bring him and Dome together.
“I love game nights. She’s like, ‘Throw a game night, invite me and some of my friends over, and I’ll bring Tay. She’ll just be one of them, and you guys can just meet,’ " he recalled. “We hit it off and the rest is history.”

While Dome doesn’t work in entertainment, she’s supportive of her husband’s career, and regularly posts about Lautner’s accomplishments. In January 2022, she sharedan Instagram postin celebration of his latest project,Home Team.
“Proud is an understatement. Proud of this movie and all the warm-hearted laughter it brings. Proud of you for getting back out there and doing what you love. Proud of the amazing man you have become,” she wrote. “I’m your biggest fan.”
She was a fan of theTwilightfilms — and of Edward Cullen
Although Lautner and Dome first met a few years ago, she knew who the actor was long before their introduction. Lautner admitted onThe Kelly Clarkson Showthat Dome was a fan of theTwilightfilms, which launched him to stardom in 2008.
In November 2020, Dome shared athrowback photo on Instagramof her wearing aTwilightsweatshirt. She captioned the flashback, “#tbt #twilightforever.”
In a hilariousvideoposted in June 2022, Dome admitted that she was once Team Edward over Team Jacob duringTwilight’s heyday. Participating in the “Show your childhood crush and then the person you ended up with” trend, she started the video with images ofRobert Pattinsonas Edward Cullen before cutting to photos of Lautner, who played Edward’s rival, Jacob Black.
“I think it’s time to come clean,” Dome captioned the post, with Lautner commenting, “Bout time I won something.”
Lautner’s proposal left her speechless
After popping the question, Lautner shared the details of his proposal withAccess Hollywood. He also confessed that his wife had a hard time saying “yes” — but not because she wasn’t interested.
“She always has said, ‘I don’t want anything special. I don’t want anything big and grand. Do it in the kitchen,’ " he shared before noting that the kitchen plays a special role in their relationship.
“I love cooking, so I make us food all the time in the kitchen and we just eat at the counter,” he said. “And she’s like, ‘One night after we eat in the kitchen, that’s all I want. Simple.’ "
Lautner did propose according to his now-wife’s wishes, but he added a little flair.
“I got tons of flowers and candles and a sign. So when she came home at the end of the day, after a long day of work, she walked into that,” he said. “It was a lovely surprise.”
TheAbductionactor admitted it took a while for Dome to respond, which caught him off guard.
“It actually did take her a little longer than expected to say ‘yes’ because she was weeping so hard. She couldn’t even walk up to me,” he recalled. “So I was on my mark and I have to leave the mark to go get her to lift her up from crying … It took a sec, but it was super sweet.”
She changed her last name to Lautner
In August 2022, Lautner revealed onThe Kelly Clarkson Showthat Dome planned to legally change her last name after their wedding.
“Cause we already share one name, so it’s gonna be extra complicated,” Lautner told Clarkson. He called the situation “ridiculous,” even joking, “I’m a narcissist.”
“Packages are becoming tough. We need to figure something out because when I’m buying stuff for her, and she’s buying stuff for me, we’re going to have some surprises spoiled if we open the wrong Taylor Lautner package,” he shared on theGood Guyspodcast.
Lautner continued, “TSA … they’ll be like, ‘Which one of you is Taylor Lautner?’ And we’re like, ‘Both of us.’ They’re like, meh, this seems fishy. We’re gonna send you to security.”
She married Lautner in 2022
Lautner and Dome wed on Nov. 11, 2022, at Epoch Estate Wines outside of Paso Robles, Calif.
Dome stunned in acustom Winnie Couture A-line gown, which she paired with an elbow-length veil and a tulle cape.
“We did a first look [before the ceremony] because I knew if the first time I saw her was when she was walking down the aisle, I would have lost it,” Lautner, who wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo for the big day, told PEOPLE.
Roughly 90 people attended the wedding, includingJason Kennedyand his wife, Lauren Scruggs, who were members of the bridal party.
“Everything felt so surreal,” Dome said. “The flowers, the vines, the sky. We were both very involved in the process so we had high expectations, but it exceeded them for sure.”
The bride added. “We just wanted the day to feel celebratory, no pressure or anxiety. Everybody there meant so much to us.”
She and Lautner have a podcast together

Dome and Lautnerdebuted their podcastin February 2023,The Squeeze, which focuses on themes of mental health and well-being.
“In addition to sharing coping strategies and stories, we hope that above all, this podcast offers the comfort of knowing you are not alone,“a descriptionon the podcast’s Instagram page reads.
While working together isn’t always easy, Lautner and Dome told PEOPLE in December 2024 that they have had to figure out “when tostop talking about work” so they can keep that part of their lives separate from their downtime.
“I think it’s important that we do put in somewhat of an effort into having independent time, because we obviously love each other and would spend every waking second with the other if we could, and we almost do,” he explained. “I think we probably could put more of an effort into just having our independent time.”
She’s a Taylor Swift fan

Dome revealed that she is an “OG fan” of Taylor Swift on an episode ofBacheloralumNick Viall’s podcast,The Viall Files.
“I went to one of her first concerts like ever. It was at the tiniest theater. My best friend loved her, and then I did too,” she said.
Dome also spoke about which of Swift’s songs she likes best, calling the albumSpeakNow"one of the best albums of all time.”
In July 2023, Dome and Lautner (who dated Swift for a few months in 2009) attended the pop star’sEras Tour concert in Kansas City, Missouri. At one point, theTwilightactor joined Swift onstage to premiere a music video for the track “I Can See You.” Lautner stars in the video alongside Joey King and Presley Cash.
“He was a very positive force in my life when I was making theSpeak Nowalbum, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that music video,” Swift said when introducing her ex to the crowd. “He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it’s very convenient because we all share the same first name.”

On Instagram, Dome gushed about Swift following the concert.
“@taylorswift you are not only one of the most talented people to ever walk this earth (truly don’t think there is anything you can’t do) but you are also one of THE kindest people,” she captioned two images — one of the three Taylors and one from the 2010 concert where she first met Swift.
Dome continued, “You welcomed my husband and I into your camp with open arms and the warmest heart. The way you are so down to earth and authentically yourself after all these years of being in the spotlight is inspiring. I am honored to call you a friend.”
After experiencing what Swifties are calling “post-Taylor Swift show depression,” or “PTSD,” Dome and Lautner snagged tickets to one of the singer’s Los Angeles shows in August 2023.
She and Lautner have matching tattoos

For her 26th birthday, Lautner surprised Dome with a tattoo session at their home in California. The tattoo artist gave the couplematching ink— their wedding date (11.11.22) printed in a delicate font. Both Lautner and Dome got the tattoo on their left wrist.
