Tina Feyisn’t just a regular mom — she’s definitely a cool mom!

While attending the New York City premiere of the movie musicalMean Girlson Monday, the actress, 53, shared that she turned to her two daughters Alice, 18, and Penelope, 12, for advice in creating the updated 2024 rendition of the popular movie.

“It feels amazing! This is where we had the New York premiere the last time, so it’s very full circle,” Fey toldEntertainment Tonight. “Because now, I’m here with my children.”

Fey shares her daughters with husband Jeffrey Richmond, 62.

In December, the comedian and actress attended the American Museum of Natural History 2023 Gala in New York City and opened up to PEOPLE abouthow her daughters are often her toughest critics.

“You’re never cool [to your kids],” Fey said. “No, you’re never cool, and you shouldn’t try to be. Just let it happen!”

“Get some celebrity friends,” Richmond added. “There’s more than you think!”

“There’s so many of them, they’re easy to get," joked Fey.

During a February appearance onLate Night with Seth Meyers, Fey — whoreprises her role of teacher Miss Norbury in the new movie— praised the “amazing cast” of the upcoming film, which includes Tim Meadows as Principal Duvall,Angourie Riceas Cady,Reneé Rappas Regina,Auli’i Cravalhoas Janis, Jaquel Spivey as Damian, and Philipps as Regina’s “Cool Mom” Mrs. George.

The star went on to also shout out their “very cool directing team” and choreographer, promising, “It’s gonna be good.”
