Princess Beatricehas changed her Christmas plans due to medical reasons.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that Beatrice, 36, and her husbandEdoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 41, will now be joining the royal family for the Christmas gathering at Sandringham — due to her pregnancy — instead of traveling to be with her in-laws in Italy for the holidays as originally scheduled.
Beatrice likely won’t participate in the walk to church, the source added.
Sandringham is the royal family’s traditional Christmas destination, withKing Charleshosting the festivities. Beatrice’s daughterSienna Elizabeth, 3, and stepson Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, 8, will also reportedly attend the festivities, according toHello!magazine.

Astatementfrom Buckingham Palace at the time read, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.”
Beatrice’s uncle,King Charles, also shared his joy over the announcement. “His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news,” the statement continued.
It isPEOPLE’s understandingthat Beatrice’s younger sister,Princess Eugenie, 34, will not be in attendance at Sandringham this year, as she previously accepted an invitation to spend the holidays with in-laws.
And while most of the royal family will be in attendance at Sandringham for the holiday, Princess Beatrice’s parents,Prince AndrewandSarah Ferguson, will be notably absent. The pair — who while no longer married, share a residence at the Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate — reportedly withdrew the initial acceptance of their invitation amid the public uproar over The Duke of York’s alleged dealings with aknown Chinese spy.
