Oprah Winfreyis keeping her purple style streak alive!

The entertainment queen, 69, looked regal at the 2024Golden Globeson Sunday in a bold custom Louis Vuitton purple dress and matching shoes. The look was a loving nod toThe Color Purple, which she co-produced.

Speaking withExtra,Oprah said the gown took “600 hours” to make.

“Three women . . . It’s like a work of art," shetoldExtra.“I am gonna hate to take it off, I’m gonna need three people to take it off.”

Winfrey has worn a plethora of purple looks while promotingThe Color Purple. Of sporting the hue during the press tour, she joked to PEOPLE, “I’m doing for purple what Barbie did for pink!”

On the red carpet,she addressed her slimmed-down figuretoEntertainment Tonight. “It’s not one thing, it’s everything,” she told the outlet at the time.

In her PEOPLE cover story,Winfrey elaborated on her approach to maintaining a healthy weight, sharing that it includes regular exercise and the use of a weight-loss medication.

“I eat my last meal at 4 o’clock, drink a gallon of water a day, and use the WeightWatchers principles of counting points. I had an awareness of [weight-loss] medications, but felt I had to prove I had the willpower to do it. I now no longer feel that way.”

At theElleWomen in Hollywood awards ceremony on Dec. 5, she wore a sequin suit and added pops of purple with her ring, handbag and heels.

“If you don’t have purple to wear to [watchThe Color Purple], you can always do purple accessories like I did,” she wrote of the look on Instagram.

AtVariety’s Power of Women ceremony on Nov. 16, Winfrey chose a pastel lilac Dries Van Noten pantsuit and matching peep-toe heels.

Her first nod to purple came on Nov. 15 at the National Book Awards. She wore a plum dress with plume-embellished sleeves.

The original film premiered in 1985 with Oprah starring as Sofia. The star was nominated for an Academy Award forher breakout performancein it, for whichshe took home a $35,000 paycheck.

“Doing the [original] film was the most important thing that had ever happened to me and continues to be a central theme in my life,” Winfrey told PEOPLE.

She added that the movie — which was nominated for 11 total Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress forWhoopi Goldberg— “is the reason I ended up owning my own show, why I learned to surrender, do the hardest work and then let that work go.”

Winfreydid consider making a cameo in the 2023 movie, but ultimately chose not to.

“I thought it would also be distracting when Sofia is getting married that if the old original Sofia was just one of the people in the church,” she toldThe Hollywood Reporter.
