Lynn Ban, a renowned jewelry designer and star of Netflix’sBling Empire: New York, hasdiedweeks afterundergoing emergency surgeryfollowing a ski accident. She was 52.
Her son Sebastian announced her death in anInstagrampost, writing that she died on Monday, Jan. 20.
“My mum passed away on Monday,” he wrote while sharing a selection of family photos. “I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her.”

“Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person. I would like to take the chance to share who my mum really was,” he continued. “She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all.”
Sebastian added, “She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know.”
The reality star’s son also noted that he will remember her as “the funniest and coolest mum.”

“Although she may be gone now, I will do everything I can to make sure she is never forgotten and for her life to be celebrated as it deserves to be," Sebastian concluded. “As a final message to my mum, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and to end [with] something she always told me ‘I love you more than life itself’ mum.”

“I won’t forget so many wonderful things about your mother,” Wang continued. “She was a true badass yet the kindest ray of light at the same time. yes she loved her fashion and her looks, but what truly mattered most to her was always you and your father, her tribe 🤍 we are all heartbroken 💔.”
On Dec. 30, 2024, Ban shared that she suffered a near-fatal brain bleed that required emergency surgery after a ski accident on Christmas Eve.
“And In a blink of an eye … life can change,” Ban wrote in anInstagram post, where she shared photos of herself in the hospital following an emergency craniotomy, which required her to have half of her head shaved and multiple surgical staples.

The jewelry designer said she’d been skiing in Aspen with her family when she “had a ski accident that would change my life.”
Ban — who said she was wearing a helmet at the time — wrote that the tip of her ski caught on something and she “face planted … It didn’t seem that bad at the time and I was able to ski to the bottom.”

“This saved my life,” Ban said, explaining that her husband, Jett Kain, took her in a taxi to the hospital, where “within 30 minutes they told us I had a brain bleed and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital.”
