Jay-Z’s lawyer is calling for the rapper’s rape accuser’s identity to be revealed or for the case to be dismissed, it’s been reported.

Per an amended complaint filed on Sunday, Dec. 8, the 55-year-old musician — whose legal name is Shawn Carter — was named andaccused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl24 years ago alongsideSean “Diddy” Combsin a civil lawsuit, originally filed in October.

On Monday, Carter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, filed paperwork in court requesting that a judge require the woman to “reveal her identity if she wants to continue the lawsuit,” theAssociated Pressreported.

According toThe Hollywood Reporter, Spiro said in the filing in Manhattan federal court that Jane Doe hadn’t “provided substantial evidence to justify her anonymity,” adding that her “vague assertions of potential harm fall far short of the stringent requirements.”

Spiro wrote, “Mr. Carter deserves to know the identity of the person who is effectively accusing him — in sensationalized, publicity-hunting fashion — of criminal conduct, demanding massive financial compensation, and tarnishing a reputation earned over decades,” according to the AP.

“He has never been accused of, let alone engaged in, any sexual misconduct,” Spiro added, per the news agency.

On Sunday,Carter called out Buzbee in a lengthy responseto the amended filing onRoc Nation’s X(formerly known as Twitter) account. “What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle. No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!” the rapper wrote in part.

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case,” he continued.

“You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same,” Carter’s post included. “I’m not from your world. I’m a young man who made it out of the projects of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable.”
