We ’re look frontwards to see what Nokia ’s got coming for Windows Phone next week . But in the meantime , here ’s the first looking at at a WP8 earpiece — one made by Samsung!—from Microsoft ’s blog .
At first glance , we guess the phonelooked like a Galaxy S III , but after looking at these shots from the MS blog , this looks like something else . It ’s officially called the ATIV S , and has some impressive specs . A 4.8 - inch HD Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass 2 projection screen , 1.5Ghz dual - sum processor , 1 GB RAM , 16 or 32 GB storage , and a 2300mAh assault and battery — just a bit bigger than the 2100mAh on the GSIII .

spirit - wise , it ’s … OK . Decent . But it ’s not as sleek and thoroughly - looking as the Galaxy S III . Its design just is n’t as blank . Nokia ’s definitely got some competition , which is a good thing , but it would be even better if this affair were just drop dead gorgeous . For all the pics , head over to the Microsoft blog . Update : From Samsung ’s case at IFA , the sound is 8.7 mm thick .
