Gwyneth Paltrowis opening up about her “fraught” working relationship withHarvey Weinstein.

The Oscar-winning actress, 46, revealed toVarietythat while she may have received critical acclaim for her roles inEmmaandShakespeare in Love— both Miramax Films productions — working with Weinstein, 66, was a tough thing to do.

“He was a very difficult boss,” Paltrow told the publication. “It was a fraught relationship.”

She continued, “We would get in knock-down, drag-out fights. I remember once, my mother [Blythe Danner] walked in the room and I was yelling at him about something. She was like, ‘Who was that on the phone?’”

When Paltrow told her it was Weinstein, Danner said, “‘Oh, my goodness, good for you. Stand up for yourself.'”

After 1996’sEmma,the actress worked with Weinstein again for 1998’sShakespeare in Lovefor which she won the Oscar for Best Actress the following year.

Paltrow accused Weinstein of sexual harassmentin a lengthy profile inThe New York Timesin October 2017. Weinstein hasdenied those allegations.

Since working with Weinstein, Paltrow has starred in a slew of classics, although she admitsshe’s taken a step back from Hollywoodto focus more on other endeavors, such as her lifestyle brand, Goop.

“I think the movies and the business around them have changed so much in the last 20 years,” Paltrow toldVariety.

“I don’t think any of the movies that I’m known for would get made today,” she continued. “Would they makeThe Royal Tenenbaums?Would they makeThe Talented Mr. Ripley? Would they makeShakespeare in Love?”

While Paltrow placed acting on hold, the star has remained in pop culture with her role as Pepper Potts in theIron ManandAvengersfilms while also launching Goop in 2008.
