A moving picture as bold and intriguing as CRO as Avengers : Endgame — the culmination of plot threads , character arcs , unrelenting post - credit tantalization , and role player contract across over a decade of blockbuster film fashioning — naturally invites with it the hush up procedure of secrecy . But that does n’t just apply to avoiding outflow : it applies to its genius .
The cast of Avengers : Endgame has long made reset the pressure , bothjokinglyandrealistically , of receive to keep up the extreme silence of realise the film . At times that imperativeness is about the absurdity of it , as they go on a military press tour for a movie where they can sayevenlessthan you could unremarkably say on a blockbuster press turn . At times , it ’s about the wholeness such a uncanny experience hasforged among them .
But in being capable to talk about what they ca n’t say about the film itself , they also reveal that , honestly ? It seems pretty all-fired weird from an actor ’s full stop of purview . Brie Larsonrecently told Inquirerabout her first solar day film on the solidifying of Endgame , a cognitive process that involved her have utterly no estimation what she was really filming outside of … her one line :

I flew to Atlanta for my first twenty-four hour period on Endgame . I had no thought what I was shooting , what the movie was . I did n’t know if anybody else was in a scene with me . I did n’t know anything .
And it ’s not until you show up that you get your pages for the day . But you only get your part . So it was like a prospect that was wholly black redacted , and then just my one line . I ’m very aroused to talk about this once the movie is out , because I ca n’t give the details out .
That is , apparently , not a process that ever really changes , even as you take more and more of the movie , as Chris Hemsworth noted on Ellen last week , where at least his understanding of what Endgame is at this point has germinate from no clue at all to … well , a dim idea , because he has no idea how it ’ll all be put together in the final edit :
It ’s funny , I feel like a lover of this whole thing as much as anyone else , and I ’m interested to see if I live or die or what happens to me . I have a rough idea of what happens , but no , I have not seen the celluloid and I really do not sleep together how it stop .
An actor is never really going to have a full setting of the film they ’re pretend until they see that final cut , of course — that ’s just the redaction process , that ’s how moviemaking works . Things change , thing can get swap around , what might have been shot with one intent could be chopped up and fixed around to be used in another context .
But with something like Endgame , it seems to go so much further beyond that , in decree to keep as little information about the film from getting out into the hands ofeager , conjecture - drive fansin advance as possible . For these worker , it ’s like only aid to work up one opus of the puzzle , without have any mind of what the chassis of your puzzler piece is , how many other pieces there are , or hell , what the puzzle is even a picture of . The mystifier slice is less of a mystifier piece in that style and more of a bizarre , contextless slop . What is it even like to have to film like that ?
We ’ll find out before long enough — as will stars like Larson and Hemsworth — just what secrets all those puzzles will reveal when finally put together , when retaliator : Endgame hits theaters April 26 .
