A Massachusetts woman was killed Saturday when the snowmobile she was riding on crashed in New Hampshire, authorities said.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game said emergency personnel responded shortly after noon on Saturday to the Bear Springs Snowmobile Trail near Pine Mountain in Gorham to help a woman who “had suffered significant injuries after crashing into trees” and was unresponsive

The victim was later identified asKrista Bebezas, 48, of Wesftford, Massachusetts.
“Although the investigation into this incident is ongoing, it is the belief of investigators that operator inexperience played a significant role in the crash,” officials added.
In a statement shared onFacebook, the family remembered their “beloved Krista.”
“It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the unexpected death of our beloved Krista, a devoted mother of two beautiful girls, a loving daughter, an amazing sister, and a dear friend to so many,” the family wrote. “We thank everyone for their outpouring of support and please kindly ask that you continue to respect our privacy. We will be making no further comment at this time.”
The woman’s death comes almost two weeks after Shawnee Hollis 39, of North Brookfield, Massachusetts,was killed in a snowmobile crashwhile on the Primary Trail 109 in Milan, New Hampshire. According to the New Hampshire Fish and Game, Hollis unsuccessfully tried to navigate a downhill left turn when her snowmobile hit a tree. “Inexperience was determined to be the leading factor in the crash,” the department said.
On Jan. 23, another Massachusetts woman also died in a snowmobile crash in New Hampshire. Stacey McGarry, 56, of Littleton,was killed on Corridor 12 in the town of Berlin, New Hampshire Fish and Game said at the time.
McGarry, the driver of the vehicle, “failed to make a right-hand turn in the trail” and hit a tree, resulting in McGarry’s fatal injuries and a passenger being ejected, authorities said.
