Cynthia Erivowill be performing inJesus Christ Superstar.
On Tuesday, Feb. 18, it was announced that theWickedstar, 38, will be leading the lineup for the Hollywood Bowl’s 2025 production, playing the role of Jesus.
Sharing the news on herInstagram Stories, Erivo expressed her excitement for her new role. “Just a little busy this summer,” she wrote alongside a wink face emoji. “Can’t wait!!”

According to theLos Angeles Times, this year’s production is set to be the Bowl’s first summer musical since taking a hiatus following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We missed the musicals for a few years, and I think that one is a good one to return with,” L.A. Phil President and Chief ExecutiveKim Noltemytold the outlet. “Whether it be staffing or psychological transition, we needed time to get back up to running like the machine we can be when everything’s going well.”
