The series , pen by Chronicle and Superman : American Alien author Max Landis , will bring Dirk Gently — star of Douglas Adam ’s classic series of illusion / sci - fi / detective novel — off from his traditional UK home and put down him in America . It ’s hard not to be excited at the prospect of more Dirk Gently — even if it ’s twinged with remembering the sadness of thecut - down - before - its - time BBC version in 2010 — but without more to go on , I gauge we ’ll have to wait and see .
