Not all engineering science are created equal : some are easy to apply , some are ruffianly to get to grips with , and others are downright impossible to get working .
A good rule of pollex , though , is that if the manual for some piece of technology needs its own manual for you to understand it , you should n’t be using said engineering in the first place . [ XKCD ]
